Private Acting Classes and Holistic Life Coaching
Private sessions at Cindy Tanas Actors Studio enable you to receive one-on-one personalized guidance. The attention and focus of these sessions is ‘you’.
For over 25 years, my students have called me a teacher, mentor, healer, and life coach. My classes are for actors and non-actors alike.
These personalized sessions provide you with an opportunity to work on your life and your acting simultaneously. It is my experience that most of the blocks you deal with in your acting are rooted in your life. Things like self-consciousness, performance anxiety, difficulty accessing emotion and vulnerability, lack of confidence, self-doubt, or inner criticism. Whatever the issue is, I will support you, and we will confront it together.
Using various proven modalities (see below), we will bridge the gap between your authentic self and your inherent need for creative expression.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) & Voice Dialogue
These two modalities are used interchangeably for personal growth and artistic growth. I use these modalities to work with blocks that come from mind interference or mind perceptions that are not helpful to your life or your acting, to help vulnerable parts release core beliefs and burdens that are unhealthy and keep you stuck in low self-esteem, and to help keep you from getting overwhelmed when vulnerable parts of you get triggered in your acting or your life.
You get to know the characters that live inside of you, thereby gaining deep self-knowledge. You learn to access the capital “S” Self and keep “parts” of you from taking over your life. In this way you develop a stronger sense of Self and learn to navigate your ship through life from this wiser, calmer, more confident state of being. This strong sense of Self helps keep you healthy in your life and when accessing acting roles, so that you do not get lost in the role and have a hard time returning to hemostasis, but instead can identify with and disidentify from the role more easily.
We also use these modalities to learn how to create a clear and open channel for a deeper, more soulful embodiment of characters and access to creativity. I implement these practices to help the actor or layman bring more of ‘themselves’ personally and universally to their lives or their character roles. This leads to authenticity in their life and their acting.
Bioenergetics
This modality is used to help release blocked emotions and allow the free flow of energy through the body, freeing the body towards authentic expression. This modality is also geared towards grounding and calming the nervous system and to help reconnect the student to their body, enabling access to unexpressed impulses, instincts, and intuition.
Life Coaching
Life coaching is implemented when the student is needing to talk and sort out life issues that may be getting in the way of their life, their acting, their creativity, or their career. From my 25 years of experience, I will provide support and guidance as we move through the issues towards the needed goal.
Mindfulness and Meditation
To help with breathing, relaxation and focusing, as well as pretty much any issue a student can present with.
Acting Coaching
I will work with you on scene work, monologues, or acting exercises. Addressing acting needs or issues may bring up other issues that lead to one or more of the above modalities.
Cindy is trained in bioenergetics, accessing archetypes, working with mental, physical, and emotional connection, movement, relaxation and focusing techniques, as well as various energetic, mind-based and emotional modalities for getting to the root of any creative or personal issue or resistance. She uses these modalities to facilitate healing and the creative process.
